Projects

Mareeba Community Centre strives to bring new opportunities to our community.

On this page we are showing you smaller projects we have coordinated or participated in within the community.

Under our Projects tab we will create drop down pages for larger showcase projects we have collaborated on and coordinated in the community.

Big Blue Table

Mental health is a big deal here in Australia, and it impacts so many of us—one in five people face mental health challenges every year. It’s super important for us to talk about it and support each other.

That’s where the Big Blue Table event comes in!

It was all about creating a space where we could have honest conversations about mental health without any judgment. We got together to share our stories, learn from one another, and find out about the resources available to help us.

It was a chance to connect, support each other, and break down the stigma around mental health. By joining in, we’re helping to create a community where everyone feels comfortable reaching out for help when they need it.

If you need assistance with mental health, reach out to us at the centre or look on our community connection page for more information.

Community On Canvas - Short Term Project 2021

Mareeba Community Centre was successful in obtaining funding through the Regional Arts Development Fund.

With this funding we where able to run a series of workshops for the community to encourage them to use art to express what community meant to them

To your right you will see the completed artwork which we have displayed in our reception area and some art work up close. We would like to thank our artist Tom Cosic who has done an amazing job.
